pictures of fireworks

I just need to address one more thing-
last week at school we had a fireworks show. all fireworks show are vaguely similar, but I would have to say ours was pretty good. I went with a couple friends, and we sat down on the grass to watch the show. then about half of the people at the show started doing something that seemed to me defeating the purpose of the event. they started taking pictures of the fireworks. WHY.

Like I said earlier, all fireworks shows are vaguely the same. And yes, often they symbolize something, like the end of a school year, the fourth of july, or the chinese new year. but think about what you are doing- when are you going to look back through your fireworks pictures and think "wow, that was a great one. so many red sparkles!"
never. maybe once if you are in a nostalgic mood.

I believe fireworks shows are simply there to be enjoyed! put your camera down and watch the show without a lens. they aren't that great after ten minutes anyway- why you need a picture of a firework that is likely being reproduced around the world is beyond me. live in the moment, enjoy the lights, and leave talking with the people around you about the nights events.

every event does not warrant a picture, and now that facebook doesn't even tell you what number picture you are on in someone's album, every event especially does not warrant a picture.

just watch the fireworks
